Currently I’m working on the character customizer. At the beginning, you create a character to play as the Captain of The Expedition, but you can also customize all of the settlers and workers you recruit throughout the game. Like most of The Expedition, I wanted to focus on allowing the player a lot of freedom to create whatever they can imagine. By default, the new settlers that show up look like average people, but if you really want one of them to have an enormous head, purple skin, and pointy ears, well, you can do that too.
Use a bewildering array of sliders to customize various proportions of the character’s body, everything from leg size to ear rotation. I know; we all wish it were this easy in real life.
You can also choose from a variety of styles for both the hair on your head and the hair on your face. Make sure you look your best while journeying through mysterious ancient ruins; you never know what might be watching!
There are many different articles of clothing to choose from as well. As you progress in the game, you will find and craft a variety of new equipment for yourself and your settlers as well.
You can change the colors of almost every part of a character, whether you’re choosing eye color or dyeing the fancy new scarf you just crafted. You can alter materials to change how metallic or shiny they are as well.

There’s a standalone version of the Character Customizer available now for alpha testers. If you haven’t received it and want it, please let me know through Facebook or the contact page! It will be integrated into the next alpha build as well. Happy characterizing!
